Rescued!?

v23 n13

Rom 10:9, That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved..(KJV)

When one first comes to the realization of the Lord Jesus, they come to the understanding that they are in need of a savior. They finally come to the realization that they do need a relationship with God, and this can only happen by being born-again. It is then that they have to recognize Jesus of Nazareth as God’s man of the moment for each and every person, and recognize that through Him, God indeed did do something very special for anyone that will believe. It is at this time that they with their mouth confess the Lord Jesus, and somehow know or believe in their heart that God did raise Him from the dead, and by this act, it is that they are able to be saved.

A picture that one might try to visualize is one like this. You are up to your chest in quicksand, and you call out to God that He would save you. At this very moment God throws you a rope or a lifeline, and now it is your choice to grab it, or look and hope for some other means of rescue. (Will you ignore the rope, because you are not able to see who is holding the other end?) And once you grab onto that rope or lifeline, you now have to continue to hold on to that rope until you are pulled all the way out of that quicksand.

4982  sozo (sode'-zo); saved… from a primary sos (contraction for obsolete saoz, "safe"); to save, i.e. deliver or protect (literally or figuratively): to save, to keep safe and sound, to rescue from danger or destruction; a) one (from injury or peril)  1) to save a suffering one (from perishing), that is, one suffering from disease, to make well, heal, restore to health  1) to preserve one who is in danger of destruction, to save or rescue  b) to save in the technical, Biblical sense; negatively: 1) to deliver from the penalties of the Messianic judgment 2) to save from the evils which obstruct the reception of the Messianic deliverance. KJV-- heal, preserve, save (self), do well, be (make) whole.

Now faith is! Right now, today. You have to continue to hold onto that lifeline or rope until you are pulled all of the way out of the muck and the mire of this world. However, note in verse ten of Romans chapter ten, that now in this instance, that it is with the heart that you need to believe unto the righteousness. That righteousness that God has imputed or made available to you. If your own righteousness would be sufficient, then there would have been no reason for God to have sent His Son to take your place. So we can then see that your own righteousness is to no avail, for Isaiah describes your righteousness as stinky, filthy rags. So thus one needs to accept and believe the righteousness that God has made available to them.

2 Cor 5:16-17, Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more. Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. (KJV)

So here one can now begin to see, that as they grow in a working knowledge of the Word of God, that their understanding begins to open to the revelation (hmmm, there is even a book in the Bible by that name) of who Jesus of Nazareth was that we knew after the flesh, and now we no longer are to know Him that way. This happens and comes about, as one will read the Word, and recognize that He made this same Jesus both Lord and Christ. It is through Christ we are made that new creation. We are made fresh and new with the victory that Christ gave us when He rose from the dead. This is the victory that He gave us, not by anything we can do or have done, other then accepting His terms and conditions for salvation.

2 Cor 5:18-19, And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. (KJV).

It was by the obedience of the son of man Jesus of Nazareth, to the leading of Christ the Son of God that reconciliation to and with Father was made possible and available to each and every person that will accept it and believe. One has to come to the realization or revelation of the mystery of the Gospel in order to fulfill that calling of an ambassador of the kingdom of God. In order to effectively do that role of an ambassador, one must realize all of the power that He represents, as well as knowing all of the power that is presented by each and every word that He speaks.

2 Cor 5:20, Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God. (KJV)

Eph 6:19-20, And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel, For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak. (KJV)

So then, you believe God with your heart unto His righteousness which is made available to you. You then are able to speak with confidence from your mouth, as an ambassador for Him, knowing who indeed backs each and every word that you speak that is in agreement with Him.

2 Cor 5:21, For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. (KJV)

Christ indeed became sin for you and me. This is the righteousness that I know was made available to me. Do you know this? Now, this is that rope that was thrown to you in the quicksand of this present evil world. Now, you need to hold fast to the profession of faith (God’s Word which is Christ, for faith is developed by hearing His Word), for it is the righteousness of God which is your strength. For you can do all things through Christ who is indeed your strength. This is all the strength that you need to pull yourself out of this world. No matter how much that quicksand, or the world pulls and tugs at you, you know that Christ rose in victory over these same forces. This is your salvation today. It is now faith. It is this strength that will deliver you from the power of darkness today. It is this lifeline that will rescue you from this world, for you know that you are to be seated in heavenly places in Christ Jesus. The view of every situation is great from up here. How are you viewing things today??

 That you may know Him,

In the service of Jesus Christ.
